Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on November 18, 1985, at Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix realized early on that she had an aptitude for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first race, Felix placed second in the 200 meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for an official career at Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set an Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to take home the 200 meters race. In 2007 she defended that title, beating her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third in each event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
